The Adler Pharmacy from 1709 to the present day

In the midst of a fierce pharmacy dispute, the Adler pharmacy was founded in 1709 in a historic inn. It rises to become the court pharmacy and opens its doors to the young Theodor Fontane, among others. A touch of Art Nouveau pervades the building when it is remodelled at the beginning of the 20th century. After years of nationalisation, it returns to the hands of its original owners. To this day, the Adler pharmacy remains at its original location as Leipzig's oldest continuously operating pharmacy.
